The SolvayCARESSM Scholarship was created to honor young adults with cystic fibrosis as they pursue goals of post-high school education. In 2010, 40 SolvayCARESSM Scholarship recipients will be announced, and each one will receive $2,500 for use during the upcoming academic year. To celebrate the 18th year of the SolvayCARESSM Scholarship, this year's Thriving Student Achiever will be awarded $18,000 in place of the $2,500 standard award.*

The Thriving Student Achiever recipient will be required to provide documentation verifying use of these funds for education-related expenses, which may include room and board fees during the academic year. If the amount awarded exceeds the student's educational funding needs for 2010-2011, the balance of unneeded funds will be donated to a CF-focused charity of the recipient's choice. |
SolvayCARESSM is a charitable program through which Solvay Pharmaceuticals provides nutritional, educational and financial support for cystic fibrosis families.
