“My dream for the future is…”

I have many dreams for my future; some of which are to get married, have a good career, and enjoy a happy and healthy life. I know that the healthy part will falter at times because of the Cystic Fibrosis, but I have faith that God will help me through it. I also have the most loving family who care for me and I have a wonderful man, that I just got engaged to, who’s always here for me.

There are days when the thought of maybe leaving my loved ones prematurely is absolutely heartbreaking. All I can do at that point is think is of those sad times and cry. However, it's my dreams of what I can accomplish that bring me out of it. They give me hope that I can have a happy life. Having CF has really taught me to live as if today was my last, though. I always try to live right, laugh often, and tell everyone I care about that I love them. I’m so glad that God has blessed me with many wonderful people to share these days with.

Though I’m able to see my life (at whatever length that may be) as very happy, that doesn’t mean that I’m just content to have this illness. My main dream for the future is to eventually see a cure for CF. This dream would allow everyone a chance to live a normal and long life to see what wonderful things come our way.
