Lauren S.'s Essay

"My dream for the future is..."
At this point in my life, the future seems so far away. However, in reality the future is near. It is next year, next month, tomorrow, even the next minute. The future continually renews itself with every step that I take. My dream for the future, however near or far away it is, is to be a well-rounded, smiling young woman who has a lasting, positive impact on those she encounters along her journey through life.
I hope to attend and graduate from college and possibly pursue an even higher education. I see myself securing a stable occupation while also going on to create a family of my own. I look forward to traveling the world: seeing one-of-a-kind sights and experiencing different ways of life. Living with Cystic Fibrosis, I would like to participate in clinical studies and any other opportunities that come along to help further the quest for a cure, enabling young people like myself to achieve all their dreams and more. I want to hold on to my bonds with the family and friends I love, as well as form new relationships with people along the way.
My dream for the future is to be well-educated, yet still have a zest for learning; outgoing yet humble; a traveler, yet a homemaker; all the while with a smile across my face. My dream is to be able to radiate happiness and hope as I live from one day to the next, taking each for everything it's worth.
