Wesley F.'s Essay

Living with CF has taught me to live life to the fullest and be thankful for everything you are given. To me life is all about having fun and taking advantage of all the many things life has to offer. Life is too short to sit and complain about all of the little problems that come up. If you complain a lot or focus on the negative parts of life, it keeps you from living happily. A negative focus seems like a wall…by the time all the aggravations get sorted out or reduced, life could be over, and you would have missed out on living your life. You just have to put a smile on, your best foot forward and move on – just like life does.

Most people live their life and never realize that the gift of breath is just that, a gift. Having CF I have to earn every breath I take by doing my medicines and therapies. Some people go about life assuming these simple tasks such as breathing are just part of being alive. I take a different look on this. For everything we have in life we must take special care of it, such as our lungs to help us breathe or even our cars to help us get from point a to b. Everything we have is a blessing and cannot be taken for granted. CF was something I was given so I must make to most out of it.
